DEDICATED TONGUE & GROOVE INSERT CUTTERHEADS
Tongue and Groove insert tooling is one of the most challenging products to produce. The biggest problem is providing a tool that will run the product effectively without loss of insert knives due to breakage alone. We therefore strongly recommend the use of dedicated insert head to reduce insert knife breakage and increase run times.
Dedicated head bodies offer the most cost effective way to produce tongue and groove V-panel and other flooring products.
The dedicated head offer two (2) major improvements over standard multi-profile insert cutterheads. First, the body acts as the support for the carbide knife. Second, use of a backing plate is not needed; therefore, maintaining a low cost unit.
PLEASE NOTE: Dedicated heads are made to run a single profile only. For example, for standard 3/4" tongue and groove flooring, you would need 1 dedicated body to run the tongue pattern and a second dedicated body to run the groove pattern.
